Photographer Lia Barrett

Today’s Featured client site is Lia Barrett Photography, based in Melbourne, Australia.

Lia Barrett is a Korean-born American underwater photographer. From working in a submarine off of Roatan, Honduras, to endless hunts for soaring mantas and macro critters in Southeast Asia, she has embraced the underwater world as her sanctuary.

Lia graduated from Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College in New York in 2007. She earned a degree in photography and a degree in sociology and history. Since graduating, Lia has been traveling the world on a continual quest for adventure while striving to improve her skills. Her work has appeared in international scuba diving and travel magazines, newspapers, and blogs including Ocean Geographic, Dive, Scuba Diving, Sport Diver, Mail on Sunday, Time, BBC Wildlife, Time Out Shanghai, Korea Herald, and Wild Junket.

Lia’s RedFrame-powered website takes advantage of several powerful features:

Minimalist Home Page

Minimalist home page showcasing Lia Barrett’s favorite images

Lia wanted the beauty of her photography to be the centerpiece of her home page. No text, no distractions, just her images.

Lia uploaded nine of her favorite photos through the Redframe Admin Background Slideshow Editor. She opted to turn off the text overlays on the showcase so that it wouldn’t distract from her photography. By changing her home page’s Sidebar Settings to ‘Custom -> No Sidebar’ and leaving the content on her home page blank, she hid everything on the page except the her image showcase.

Advanced iPad, iPhone, and Android Galleries

Full-screen, touch-sensitive image galleries for iPhone, iPad, and Android

Lia Barrett takes advantage of Redframe’s stunning mobile-friendly image galleries optimized for iPad, iPhone, and Android devices.

By activating the Mobile Gallery setting in the Redframe Admin under ‘Appearance and Settings -> Edit Mobile Controls’, Lia presents her images in stunning full-screen on modern mobile devices. The gallery can be explored with the swipe of a finger. Tapping the Gallery Title on the bottom of the screen reveals slidable gallery thumbnails. Tapping the Info Icon at the top of the screen lets Lia’s customers comment on the image, share thumbnails on their social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, and request quotes for purchasing her photographs.
